Tax Credit Q and A: What's New About This Tax Credit
This credit is part of the federal stimulus bill, signed by President Barack Obama on February 17, 2009 and extended on November 7, 2009. The Federal Homebuyer Tax Credit is a credit of up to $8,000 for first-time homebuyers and up to $6,500 for qualified homeowners purchasing a new home.
